Excerpt from cover:

"One of the most acclaimed books of the year, Tom Rachman's debut novel follows the topsy-turvy private lives of the reporters and editors of an English-language newpaper in Rome."

In last month's review of  The Imperfectionist we discussed the the title of the book and how it relates to the characters. The author, Tom Rachman chooses an Italian newspaper and it's employees as an avenue to host the novel's characters. Here, their personal lives are manifested  to their professional workings of the paper. As a group we explored the characters, their personalities and their  flaws. We reflected on how the writer used short stories as a tool to thread the characters to the newspaper. Although this book did not sweep our book club off it's feet, we felt that it was a clever read and that the newspaper environment and  was a unique, fresh  subject for a novel.
